ETHAN GOURLAY

I’m Ethan Gourlay, a contemporary artist from Glasgow whose work explores the relationship between people, place, and the marks we leave behind. Through bold colour, expressive graffiti-inspired elements, and layered compositions, I create artwork that transforms darker themes into something visually uplifting—staying true to my ethos of making the darkness look a little brighter.

Alongside my studio practice, I also specialise in large-scale bespoke murals for commercial spaces. Most recently, I worked closely with Claremont to design and deliver a custom wall mural for Softcat’s new Glasgow office on Campbell Street, creating a piece that reflects both the city’s vibrancy and the company’s identity.

Whether producing original canvas works or transforming interior spaces through mural design, my aim is always the same: to create meaningful, impactful artwork that connects with people and leaves a lasting impression.
